Take off! "With the" pilot "pressing the remote control, the hangar located on the rooftop automatically opens, and a drone slowly takes off to conduct aerial patrols according to the established route. The real-time flow and order of people in various scenic spots are transmitted back and clearly displayed on the large screen of the comprehensive command center.

During the Spring Festival holiday, Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, Fujian Province, was bustling with visitors. The Public Security Detachment of Xiamen Public Security Bureau, in conjunction with the Gulangyu Police Station of Siming Branch, launched a 5G networked unmanned aerial vehicle, which leverages technological capabilities such as high-altitude cruising, fixed-point monitoring, and remote communication to provide a "smart wing" for the safe construction of Gulangyu Island and comprehensively protect the safety of tourists and citizens.

Gulangyu Island has many mountains and hills, a long coastline, and many rugged paths on the island, which poses great difficulties for security patrols and emergency response work. After nearly three months of repeated research and debugging, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Application Management Brigade of the Public Security Detachment of Xiamen Public Security Bureau and Gulangyu Police Station have officially established a 5G networked unmanned aerial vehicle hangar at Gulangyu Police Station. This is also the first 5G networked unmanned aerial vehicle hangar set up in a police station in Fujian Province.

Previously, it took half a day to patrol the entire island, and mountainous areas and alleys could only be patrolled on foot. With drones, it only took 20 minutes, "said a police officer from Gulangyu Police Station.

5G connected drones can overcome terrain and altitude limitations and quickly cruise around the entire island, forming an integrated air ground patrol system consisting of ground patrol vehicles, low altitude video surveillance, and high-altitude drones. It can not only monitor changes in pedestrian flow in real time, identify security risks, and carry out order guidance, but also respond to emergencies in seconds.

On the evening of January 22nd, many tourists were intoxicated by the sunset sea view on the Yindou Stone on Gulangyu Island, completely unaware that the passage connecting to the beach was about to be submerged by the tide, and danger was approaching. The tide has started to rise now, and the passage will soon be submerged. Please leave as soon as possible, "a loud shout came from the drone over the Yindoushi.

Gulangyu Police Station analyzed and assessed high-risk areas for police incidents, established a drone shoreline patrol mechanism, set up automatic cruise routes, and conducted precise patrols of key areas such as Dadeji Bathing Beach and Yanwei Mountain Park during key periods to timely detect stranded individuals on the rocks and persuade them to leave through high-altitude shouting.

In addition, in the event of personnel being trapped or falling into water, drones can quickly transmit on-site images to surrounding police forces. At the same time, they can also attach lifebuoys and other items to assist rescue personnel in throwing the items to the trapped person, improving rescue efficiency and accuracy.
